Downtown Jamestown Café Presented With The Entrepreneur Of The Year Award

The Hotspot Café at 101 E 3rd St. was presented with the new JCC Entrepreneur of the Year Award during a ceremony on Thursday morning. The Small Business Development Center at SUNY JCC launched the effort to recognize area small businesses who have adapted to pandemic challenges, something owner Hector Alverio is all too familiar with.

SBA, SBDC Complete Mission for Scott Seiberg’s Road to Franchise Ownership

When Air Force veteran Scott Seiberg wanted to open a JDog Junk Removal and Hauling franchise, he turned to the Jamestown SBDC: “I had the work ethic and dedication, but I didn’t have the knowledge of how to start my own business.” Seiberg met with SBDC advisor Dan Hickman who reviewed franchise costs, developed projections and formulated a business plan that would assist him in applying for loan. Now, one-year in business, Seiberg received his loan, purchased a vehicle, a trailer and has three employees.
