The SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and The Hoffman Eells Group CPAs are teaming-up to help potentials buyers looking to acquire an existing business.

We will take a strategic look at practical considerations when buying a business and allocating the purchase price of a business into various components for income tax purposes. Understanding these issues is critical to negotiating terms for both the buyer and seller of a business. Discussion topics include basic business valuation theory and taxability of a business sale related to ordinary Income, capital gains, along with installment sales and like-kind exchanges benefits.
