Local Leaders Visit New Columbia-Harlem Small Business Development Center on Manhattanville Campus – Columbia
April 1st was an exciting day for our Columbia-Harlem Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Local leaders were invited to tour their new space on Columbia Business School's Manhattanville campus in Geffen Hall.
Columbia-Harlem SBDC Director, Kaaryn Nailor Simmons, was joined by Columbia representatives to highlight Geffen Hall's Innovation Lab (I-Lab), SBDC offices, Café, and Kravis Hall's dining and commercial space. Geffen Hall's Café is open to the public and features local products from the Harlem Local Vendor Program.

America’s SBDC survey spotlights needs and challenges to small business
The results of a national survey by America’s SBDC have been released by the New York Small Business Development Center. The survey highlights key aspirations and obstacles facing American entrepreneurs across various age generations.
America’s SBDC studied different generations’ views of entrepreneurship. The research looked at millennials (born between 1977 and 1995), Generation Xers (born between 1965 and 1976) and Baby Boomers (born between 1946 and 1964). The organization also wanted to find out how familiar millennials are with available resources in general and SBDCs in particular.
