This is a full-time, term appointment, beginning approximately April 23, 2012. Some evenings/weekends may be required. Excellent benefits package.

DESCRIPTION: The Counselor for the Small Business Development Center will report to the Director of SBDC and will be responsible for counseling small business clients in the areas of finance and marketing, including business plan development; market research; assistance in analysis and preparation of financial statements; assistance with management information systems; plan and conduct related business plan seminars and outreach activities; and locate funding sources and structure financial packages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in the area of business, marketing, finance or related field required. No less than five years’ experience in private-sector business management or related public technical assistance environment. Excellent communication and presentation skills; computer experience necessary with an emphasis on financial spreadsheets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree; experience as a CEO; small business ownership experience; and commercial lending experience are highly desirable.
