The New York State Small Business Development Center has begun to send Business Advisors to New Orleans to help small businesses impacted by Hurricane Katrina get back on their feet. The first SBDC business advisors posted to New Orleans are Mohawk Valley SBDC Regional Director David Mallen and Business Advisor Sam Russo. Both acquired experience in Lower Manhattan in 2001, working with businesses devastated by the 9/11 terrorist attacks. They will be in New Orleans for two weeks, helping small businesses qualify for SBA Disaster Relief funding, and other types of support. They will be followed by other SBDC Business Advisors from across New York.
